Previous Drug Addictions Related to Heart Problems?

Question by justvick3825: Previous Drug Addictions Related to Heart Problems?
I recently got out of the Marine Corps (No I never did that when I was in). But before boot camp, I was a typical 15-18 year old who dabbled in everything under the sun, minus needles and freebasing any type of drug.
Needless to say, I was a pretty f’d up kid. SO…went into the Marines. Proudly I might add.
MY QUESTION IS THIS: I got out for disability for both of my knees after eight years of service. While doing the physical, they found dyspnea of my heart. Where the valve that keeps blood out during the pump, lets about 45% back in. It keeps me from doing a lot of cardio activity. Now I know there is damage to my body from my drug usage, but that is a significant ailment, when it is in a degenerative state.
YOUR THOUGHTS? Sorry about the length, I’m detailed.
You should see my answers, haha
To bad13boy, I did do lots of uppers, but that was back in highshool, like 12 years ago. So, i figured it would have recovered by now. I have dabbled in some “Uppers” every now and again, but in an extremley moderate dosage. Maybe once a year if that.
To warscoob, sorry about all the additional details, but I can’t comment yet or rate an answer.
I do have a cardiologist, he has annotated it as trivial. There is one noted heart disease in my family, my grandfather dieing of heart failure. I inherited a lot of stuff from the good ole family. Baldness and now heart disease? Dang the luck. HAHA, jk

hi i don’t think you’re heart problem is related to you’re drug taking days,i think you probably were going to get this problem with or with out the drugs, and congrats for getting off them and doing something with you’re life, don’t beat yourself up,you made it of them and that is a big achievement, you’re past is you’re past and we all have one,so leave it there ,in the past, hope you get this problem sorted out,i hope its not too serious ,and good luck with you’re future.

im a recovering meth addict and i have lots of heart problems. if you did lots of uppers like i did then your heart might need the same amount of time you used to recover. in this period you could encounter things like dyspnea, arithmia, and hypertystion. its usually just your body tring to adjust back to how it used to be. but if it keeps up you might have problems.
